INVENTORY CONTROL CLERK – GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Key responsibilities in this position include: ordering, shipping, receiving, tracking inventory, retail turnover, and storage.
The overall Goal of the Inventory control clerk is the supervision of supply, storage and accessibility of items in order to insure an adequate supply without excessive oversupply, therefore managing costs and minimizing need storage, potential for theft and overhead costs of excess stock.
The Inventory Control Clerk must keep materials, parts, products and stock items supplied and readily accessible and tidy at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Duties include maintaining records and ordering stock at appropriate times, as well as forecasting future stock needs based on orders, seasons or scheduled production.
- The Inventory Control Clerk also keeps track of inventory costs and stock usage rates. Responsible for tracking shipping schedules and delivery.
- It is the responsibilities of this position to of protect the inventory from damage, loss and theft.
- Duties for this position also include:
- Ensure stock is always available to satisfy customers needs
- Maintain excellent inventory data. Track usage, costs, season and trends to ensure inventory levels are consistent
- Work with store Managers and Senior Management to establish MIN/MAX levels of consumption.
- Provide regular reports on inventory to sales teams to establish and meet sales productivity levels.
- Oversee reconciliations of actual versus reported inventory levels; month end; physical counts.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Inventory Control Clerk must be accounting oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data.
- High degree of professionalism and a high degree of attention to detail are required.
