Sales Associate – Hourly

HOURLY SALES ASSOCIATE – GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The goals and objectives should serve the purpose of enhancing the image of the Gears brand. This can be achieved through fully understanding and exercising store policies at all times (consistency), obtain complete product knowledge (professionalism), maintain and expand the customer base by providing excellent customer service (community building), be in touch with the developments in the bicycle industry (knowledge), engaging in cross training (fitting and repair) to understand the responsibilities and procedures of the colleagues in other sections of the store.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring that all customers are attended to in a timely manner and all customers have been greeted in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Indentifying and qualifying the customers’ needs and directing them appropriately.
  • Participate in full sales cycle by qualifying the need, identifying the need, product demonstration and feature/benefit presentation, test rides for bike sales, transaction completion and customer follow-up and retention.
  • Ensure that all Store opening or store closing (depending on shift) procedures have been strictly adhered to.
  • Prepare and maintain the Spin Studio as procedure manual dictates.
  • Ensure that there is a constant awareness of customers’ whereabouts and that they are being attended to.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace at all times adhering to the housekeeping checklist.  Participate in inventory control matters such as receiving incoming packages, ensuring that all items are appropriately labeled with prices and products are appropriately placed and merchandised, special orders are attended to.
  • During busy times for service Sales Associates may need to help out in Service by installing bells, adjusting seats, making minor repairs, preparing bikes for test rides etc.
  • Point of Sale/cash operation is a requirement.
  • Responsible for ensuring that daily housekeeping and operations checklist is complete.
  • Mentor new sales staff.
