The Young Riders program is like no other. We take kids on an adventure every single day. We take young people to a place in their heads and in their hearts that they have never been before… every single day.
Our programs are safe. While every sport and activity has its risks and cycling certainly has its share, we believe that the most enjoyable learning opportunities and experiences happen when young people feel safe, well-supported and understood. The Young Riders program follows predetermined pathways with the least amount of traffic. Our staff are skilled Instructors who are vigilant about the safety and well-being of every young person in our programs. We encourage everyone to ride to their own ability – getting off the bike to walk instead of fall makes perfect sense to us.
Our programs are filled with great kids. Every young person in our program will discover something great about themselves. We’re not making it up. We know it’s already there but sometimes it takes a real challenge or a new experience to reveal that great untapped potential. The Young Riders staff will be on-point looking to bring out the very best in every one of the kids.
Our programs are as healthy as they come. Young Riders will be outside, riding hard and learning all about what their bodies need to stay strong and go far – everyday. Kids will develop cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, coordination of movement, understanding of balance and momentum, increased brain activity, technical ability and all of it on a bike.
Our programs connect young people to the world around them. We believe being on a bike with other riders, close to pedestrians and sometimes near to traffic is a social skill at the highest level. Riding cooperatively, considerately, respectfully and knowledgeably are the keys to a great group ride. On the pathways or on the road, a ride that focuses on consideration and attentiveness to others opens a portal within us that has universal applications.
The Young Riders Program is about developing a life-long relationship with cycling; a relationship that inspires ideas moving in as many directions as the spokes on a wheel.
