GEARS : Community

At GEARS, we draw inspiration, energy and passion from our extensive community and cycling family.

Bikes for Africa

Gears Bike Shop has partnered with Natasha Bomba and Hope Ignited to help collect a shipping container full of bicycles. The goal is to accumulate 450 bikes for Zambia.

How can you help? Very simple. We’re looking for adult bikes in working order. These donated bicycles can be dropped off at any of our four locations across the GTA. We’ll then ensure that they get delivered to the shipping container for transport to Zambia.

Bike Swap 2020

In the spring of 2020, Gears Bike Shop is going to be hosting the Largest Bike Swap in Canada. To help us accomplish this, we will be partnering with the Morning Glory Cycling Club.

Stay tuned for more details about how you can participate. We’ll be looking for great second-hand bikes and those hidden gems that you no longer ride, but would like to get a few dollars for.

LapDogs Cycling Club

The LapDogs Cycling Club is all about riding with “like-minded” people. Volunteer run and organized, club rides focus on riding together, having fun and connecting with new people.

Road, gravel, off-road, cyclocross and track… regardless of your ability or ambition, you’ll find a social, fun-loving Pack that suits your style and passion.

Morning Glory Cycling Club

The Morning Glory Cycling Club is one of the largest cycling clubs in Canada with three chapters across the GTA. With rides taking place 7 days a week (often very early in the morning), their full program offers extensive opportunities for all.

Beyond the development of club ride programs; youth advocacy, racer development and social-minded endeavours play a large part of the club’s activities.

Peloton Ride

The Peloton Ride was developed to bring awareness for men’s mental health and to encourage open dialogue around suicide prevention. We held our inaugural ride in 2019 and we’re looking forward to 2020

We hope you will consider riding with us in 2020 and together, let us reduce the stigma around suicide and encourage open discussion.
