Most orders will be ready within one business day. Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time to transfer from off-site locations. Other items may require additional processing time for assembly.
We will email you once your order is received in our system and is being processed. You will receive another email confirming when your order is ready for pickup. If you need an item right away we ask that you call us to confirm that the product is available before heading over to our store.
Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders must be picked up within 30 days or a 10% restocking fee will be charged with balance returned to in-store credit under your customer account.
We are not able to ship bicycles purchased online. However all the bicycles on our website are available for pick up at anyone of our four locations (add link to the contacts page). Find the bike and size you want, and order it online. You can also pick the location of your choice for pick-up and have it ready and waiting for you when you arrive at the store. If you would like to add accessories and have them installed, simply add them to the cart and write in the notes what you would like installed.
Parts, Accessories, and Clothing – If there’s a problem with something you purchased from us, you can bring it to any one of our stores. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging along with the original receipt. We offer 14-day full refund or exchange.
Bicycles have a 14-day satisfaction period. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we will exchange it for another bike of the same or greater value. However, please note that bicycles, which show “wear” during that period, ie. Dirty tires, ripped saddles, dirty drivetrains, scratches, etc., will be subject to a 10-20% restocking fee, for cleaning, or replacement of no-longer new parts.
Any bicycles, car racks and child transport products that are returned will all be subject to a “rental”, or restocking fee of 10-20%. (ie, we do not return bikes, however we rent bikes, so alternatively, the restocking fee can be considered a rental)
Refunds must be done in the same method as purchase, ie, visa to visa, cash for cash. In cases where this is not possible, a GEARS Gift Certificate or in-store credit will be issued.
*Most apparel brands we carry offer a comfort guarantee. Ask a sales associate for details or check the brand’s website.
Gears Bike Shop offers shipping within Canada only. We feature Canada Post Regular Parcel (Ground) or UPS shipping on most online purchases (please note all bicycles and many over-sized items can not be shipped). Shipping costs will be calculated after order placement and you will be notified via email with regards to costs, timing, etc.
All online orders ship from our Mississauga location (176 Lakeshore Rd. West Mississauga, ON L5H 1G4) Monday to Friday. We do not process or ship online orders on weekends or statutory holidays. Most online orders are processed within 24hrs of order placement.
Please note: Some orders may require additional processing time due to the size of the order, location of the order products or volume of orders being processed. If your order is delayed, we will contact you via e-mail with an estimated order ship date.
Purchased eBikes can be picked up at any one of our four locations.
We offer FREE shipping on most eBikes to major urban centres within Canada. However, remote locations (and provinces such at NT, YK, NU, etc.) may not quality for free shipping due to transportation logistics. We apologize in advance for this and will contact you with an accurate shipping quote after you place your order. After which, you can decide if you wish to proceed at that time.
Free shipping does not apply to ON SALE eBikes.
At the current time we do not ship eBikes internationally.
Items purchased on WebStore, In Our Warehouse, may take up to 7+ days to first be ordered and received from the Warehouse before they are ready for pick-up In Store, or shipped to you.
When making a purchase from GEARS WebStore, GEARS absorbs shipping costs* for products from Warehouse to Shop. Gears will ship most* accessory WebStore purchases directly to you for costs similar to Canada Post Expedited Trackable service. Price varies by parcel weight and dimension.
*Some items will have additional charges and some items cannot be shipped, this will be communicated to you before your card is charged. Most average shoe box sized parcels will be about $15 in ON/QC, $25 elsewhere in Canada and $30 to the US. Return shipping to the shop is the responsibility of the purchaser. Any returned WebStore purchase will be assessed a $20.00 restocking fee. In-store pick-up items, not picked up within 30 days, will be assessed a 15% restocking fee and the $20 handling fee if it was from Warehouse, with the balance returned as in-store credit to your account.
Bicycles purchased on GEARS WebStore cannot be shipped. You may complete an online order for any bicycle and accessories for pick-up at the GEARS location most convenient to you.
GEARS WebStore is meant to help both of us. Human Beings enter all the information and code on our WebStore Platform and humans have been known to make mistakes. When we uncover an error we reserve the right to cancel the order and make a correction in our system. We appreciate you understanding that mistakes happen and that you are not trying to take advantage of us and we apologize in advance for this oversight and inconveniences mistakes can cause.

We will contact you if any purchase item from your order is found to be unavailable due to an inventory discrepancy. When you submit an order through our e-comm store, your credit card is pre-authorized for the total order cost (including applicable taxes and shipping). Prior to shipping your order, Gears Bike Shop will only charge the amount that reflects the total cost of the shipped product(s) and applicable taxes and shipping costs. Out of stock order items that are cancelled will not be included in the final charge to your card. We reserve the right to cancel any online orders due to suspicious activity or for any other security reasons.

You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.
We sometimes use other companies (third-party service providers) to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders and delivering packages. They need access to some personal information in order to perform their duties but may not use this information for other purposes.
Gears Bike Shop does not directly guarantee, warrant, or endorse any of the products we sell, and we rely explicitly on our manufacturers and their warranty provisions when dealing with any product failure situation. We always do our best on your behalf.
If you have an issue with your product please don’t hesitate to email us at email@example.com If you believe it is a manufacturer’s defect and would like to inquire about a warranty please send us an email and we can assist in the process. A detailed photo(s) of the defective product might be required (camera phone photos accepted) along with original receipt. We may also request that you bring the item to one of our locations for a proper inspection.
If the product you would like to warranty is from a brand we sell, but the product was purchased elsewhere we can still help as long as you have the original receipt. This process may take some time for company reps to review; please allow for at least two weeks.
We know your gear gets wet and dirty through regular outdoor use, but please clean it off before photographing it or bringing it in.
