Book your Spring / Summer Tune Up!

The “Spring Rush” continues and our Service Departments remain busy. We are accepting “Appointments Only” at our GEARS Toronto location.  Mississauga and Burlington locations are accepting walk-ins, but this might change with little notice.  *

How to book an appointment at GEARS Toronto or Mississauga:

• Staff will coordinate with you to pick the next available date
• We require a $75 (non-refundable) deposit to hold your spot. These funds will be put towards your service fees
• Bike can be dropped of in the morning of the appointment or anytime the previous day
• At drop-off, our Techs will triage your bike and provide you with a complete estimate for costs, parts (if needed) and timing
• Upon completion of your service, we require you to pick-up your bike within 48 hours. Storage space is extremely limited this time of the season and bike’s left longer may incur additional storage fees.

* New Bike Service customers are exempt from this and are still able to drop-in during their service window. We will also still be able to take in “emergency” walk-ins for light jobs like flat tires, broken chains and similar safety issues. (this will be at the discretion of the service technicians)

GEARS : Technical Services and Repairs

GEARS was built on Technical Service and Repairs. From those early day as a one man shop to today’s Regional and Local Service centres, maintaining and repairing bicycles is foundational to our business.

From simple single speeds and urban commuter bicycles to the latest in hi-tech materials, components, electronics, and e-Bike technologies, our Technical Team has the skill-sets and training to keep your bike in top-notch condition.

Drop your bike off at one of our stores, or have us pick up your bike at your home and office and drop it back off once its ready.

• Hourly Shop Charges are $100 (Senior Technician) 

• Minimum Labour Charge is $20

• All parts are extra unless otherwise noted

5 GEAR SERVICE (A) : Internal & Electronics : $450
5 GEAR SERVICE (B) : External Cables : $350

OUR SUPREME PACKAGE : For both A & B, all components are removed, deep cleaned, and overhauled. Frame is cleaned. Components are lubed/ greased, reinstalled using new cables and housing, and adjusted. Firmware updated in lieu of new cables on electronic bikes, if available.

• Advanced wheel-truing is performed
• Bars are re-taped (tape is extra)
• Installation charges of additional parts and accessories is included
• Tires are inflated
• Bike is M-checked for safety
• Senior Mechanic test ridden & completion sign-off
• Shock overhauls are not included

4 GEAR SERVICE : $249

OUR ULTIMATE PACKAGE : Drivetrain components, wheels, rotors, etc., are removed from frame and deep cleaned. Bicycle frame is also cleaned

• Components are lubed/greased, reinstalled, adjusted and tuned
• Advanced wheel-truing is performed
• Installation of any additional parts and accessories is included, with the exception of overhaul parts (headset/bb/bearings/shocks/spokes)
• Tires are inflated
• Bike is M-checked for safety, Senior Mechanic test ridden & completion sign-off
• Shock overhauls are not included

3 GEAR SERVICE : $148

OUR PREMIUM PACKAGE : Bicycle frame is cleaned.

• Shifters, derailleurs, limit screws, cable tension and brakes are adjusted and tuned
• Drivetrain is lubed
• Wheels are trued
• Tires are inflated
• Bike is M-checked for safety, Senior Mechanic test ridden & completion sign-off
• Installation of any parts extra

2 GEAR (BASIC) SERVICE : $78

OUR BASIC PACKAGE : On-the-spot adjustment and tuning of shifters, derailleurs, limit screws, cable tension and brakes.

• Tires are inflated
• Bike is M-checked for safety, Senior Mechanic test ridden & completion sign-off

eBike Specific Services

OUR EBIKE SERVICES : We offer a selection of eBike specific options that cover a range of service requirements.

• E1 GEAR Service  $98 – Firmware Update, Drivetrain clean & lube, bolts tightened
• E2 GEAR Service  $198 – Firmware Update, Drivetrain clean & lube, bolts tightened + wheels tensioned, brake service/bleed
• E3 GEAR Service  $298 – Firmware Update, Drivetrain clean & lube, bolts tightened, wheels tensioned and inspected, brake service/bleed + Motor inspection
• E4 GEAR Service  $498 – Full tear-down and disassembly, including motor drop and mounts cleaned. Firmware Update, Drivetrain clean & lube, bolts tightened, wheels tensioned and inspected, brake service/bleed and Motor inspection

• $25 : ADJUSTMENTS (Brakes, gears, headset, wheels, etc. Each)
• $50 : BRAKE BLEED (Includes pad check, rotor clean & fluid)
• $25 : COMPONENT INSTALLATION
• $50 : COMPONENT OVERHAUL (BB, hub, headset, etc.)
• $75 : FORK INSTALLATION (Includes steerer tube cutting if nec.)

• $20 : FLAT TIRE – Basic (Tire, tube extra)
• $30 : FLAT TIRE – BMX/Training Wheels/Internal Gears (Tire, tube extra)

• $50 : SPOKE INSTALLATION (Spokes extra, includes wheel true)
• $50 : TUBELESS TIRE SET-UP (Valves, tape, sealant extra)
• $100 : TUBULAR TIRE INSTALLATION (Includes stretching, gluing/taping. Removing old glue not included)
• $150 : NEW WHEEL BUILD (Rim, hub, spokes extra)

SPECIALITY SERVICES

• $100 : DRIVE TRAIN CLEANING (Includes removal, reinstallation and adjustments)
• $50 : TROUBLESHOOTING / CRASH INSPECTION
• $75 : ELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTICS / FIRMWARE UPGRADE
• $350 : SUSPENSION – FRONT FORK (Factory Service) (Removal of fork and shipment to Factory – S4 Suspension, Fox etc.. Reinstallation of fork upon return Shipping charges extra)
• $200 : SUSPENSION – FRONT FORK (In House Service) (Includes replacement of dust wipers/oil)
• $250 : SUSPENSION – REAR SHOCK (Factory Service) (Removal of shock and shipment to Factory – S4 Suspension, Fox etc.. Reinstallation of fork upon return Shipping charges extra)
